Trauma hurts.
If you’ve experienced a traumatic event, you know this all too well.
Trauma lingers.
You may relive this event, or series of events, over and over. When this happens, quite unfairly, it feels just as real as when it first happened.
Trauma’s impact doesn’t just “go away.”
It’s insidious. The impact can be immediate, or, formulated and compounded over time.
Your brain and body’s response to trauma can be varied, and none of those reactions are wrong.
If you’ve been carrying the impact of trauma, it’s time to release yourself from its grasp.
That’s where our collaboration begins.
Facing trauma can be scary.
Choosing to face your fear and heal from trauma’s impact is absolutely courageous.
I’ve had the privilege to witness incredible emotional healing take place in my office using the intervention known as Brainspotting.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a powerful tool first identified by David Grand, PhD. Evolved from EMDR, Dr. Grand and a team of talented and forward-thinking professionals developed Brainspotting into the neuroscience-backed therapeutic intervention that today is practiced across the globe.
Brainspotting works by locating points, or “spots”, in your field of vision. With guidance from a trained practitioner, these spots allow us to access emotions and memories stored in our deep brain and body.
Once accessed, we can address not only trauma, but other mental health concerns as well – depression, anxiety, performance issues, attachment wounds, and more.
The best part? Brainspotting is known for its ability to resolve issues more quickly and effectively than talk-therapy alone.
As a certified Brainspotting practitioner and seasoned therapist, I’m ready to join you in your journey to finally heal from trauma’s impact.
